Wood and Stone Ltd specialise in the supply and fitting of wood, natural stone, porcelain and high quality carpets, as well as offering a wood floor sanding and renovation service.
Established in 2004, we are an independent family-run business, catering for all types of budget, and are not restricted to a range of products. Whether you are seeking a traditional reclaimed floor or a more contemporary look, Wood and Stone can supply and install whatever you desire.
Supply and Install
We supply wood, stone, porcelain, laminate, luxury vinyl and carpets to both residential and commercial projects and our inspiration is to install expertly designed floors, which are superior to those on offer in the High Street.
Our fabulous converted barn showroom in Artington, Guildford boasts one of the widest selections of samples, which customers can browse and borrow.

Meet The Team
Duncan Smethurst
Duncan is the Managing Director of Wood and Stone Ltd and has 27 years experience in the flooring industry, having worked for large Wood and Marble flooring companies in London, before establishing Wood and Stone Ltd in 2006. His wealth of knowledge in the installation of wood and stone flooring as well as his expertise in the restoration of wood floors, enables him to provide you with detailed and helpful advice on what types of flooring would suit your requirements. Duncan is responsible for all site surveys and will take time to explain the types of flooring which might suit your property, as well as advising on how your existing floors might be restored to their former glory. He is also responsible for the project management of each and every project we undertake and will visit site and update you regularly on the progression of your project, as well as answering any queries you may have.
Julie Smethurst
Julie is the Company Secretary of Wood and Stone Ltd and is responsible for the running of our large showroom. She has a wealth of knowledge on our products and can help you to decide which types of flooring would suit both your desire and your budget. Julie is able to guide you through our products when you visit the showroom and help you to pick out samples based on colour, durability and practicality, so you are able to find a floor, which suits your property as well as your lifestyle.
Our Floor Fitters
Our floor fitters are highly skilled and experienced in their craft and many have worked directly for us for many years, meaning that your project is managed and fitted to the highest standard. Our wood flooring installers are fully trained in the carpentry required to install not only engineered plank flooring, but also bespoke designs such as herringbone parquet, chevron parquet, Versailles panels, basket weave patterns and much more. Our stone fitters are experts in working with both natural stone and porcelain and can advise on the best lay out for your installation, as well as ensuring that your finished floor is installed to our exacting standards. They are able to supply and install electric under floor heating systems, as well as the floor coverings themselves, and are experienced in problem solving any existing sub-floor issues such as strengthening and self-levelling to ensure it is fit for the purpose of wood or stone fitting.
Our Restoration Specialists
Our full time restoration specialists work on our wood flooring restoration projects, whether this be sanding, staining and re-sealing existing Victorian pine boards, or flooring repairs to an existing herringbone parquet. Experts in the use of our finest dust-free floor sanding machines, our restoration staff are very friendly and can offer the following services: sanding, staining, sealing, sourcing reclaimed boards, colour samples on your existing floors for your to choose from, gap filling, floor repairs, maintenance advice and much more.
